We are excited to share that yesterday at World ECDIS Day 2025 in Hamburg, our CEO Tor Andreas Svanes was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
This recognition celebrates Tor’s long journey — from the early days of ECDIS and the transition from paper charts to ENCs, through years of collaboration (and friendly rivalry!) within the maritime industry, to today’s exciting future of digital solutions, including S-100.
We are proud to see his lifelong dedication to safe, smart, and digital navigation acknowledged by the award committee, and deeply thankful to everyone in the maritime community — ship owners, distributors, OEMs, navigators and many more — who continue to shape this journey together.
A heartfelt thank you also to the event organisers for bringing us all together in the same historic place where the first ECDIS was type-approved back in 1999.
We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Tor with his big achievements in the maritime industry and with his Lifetime Achievement Award.
Here’s to many more years of innovation, collaboration, and digital transformation at sea!
Paul Elgar received the award on behalf of Tor A. Svanes.
