Strengthening our S-100 foundation for the future

The NAVTOR team, gathered in Egersund for a S-100 Workshop week.

Earlier this month, NAVTOR colleagues from across regions and countries gathered in Egersund for a dedicated S‑100 workshop, an important milestone in reinforcing our global commitment to our customers and partners as we enable the next generation of maritime data standards. 

As the industry accelerates toward next‑generation data standards, NAVTOR continues to lead from the front, ensuring that S‑100 becomes a catalyst for smarter, safer, and more connected maritime operations.

Building a unified understanding of the S‑100 landscape  

The workshop focused on deepening our shared understanding of the S‑100 framework, its growing product landscape, and the industry’s transition from S‑57. Colleagues explored new maritime data developments, aligned with the IHO roadmap and timelines. A key objective was to maintain our strong focus on delivering new, modern navigational and informational data to NAVTOR’s customers and OEM partners through IHO S‑100 products.

The workshop also highlighted how the IHO S‑100 framework opens new opportunities for innovation and collaboration across the maritime industry, enabling added value in how navigational and maritime data is delivered and used.

Bringing our NAVTOR teams together across regions to align on S‑100 is a strategic step as the industry moves toward more integrated, data‑driven solutions, ensuring we continue to deliver trusted, future‑ready services that meet the evolving needs of mariners and maritime organisations worldwide.
