Faster vessel visibility. Greater operational awareness. Smarter fleet monitoring.

NavFleet 2.8: See your fleet move within seconds with AIS streaming

The latest NavFleet release introduces AIS Streaming, delivering vessel position updates within seconds rather than minutes. What makes this truly groundbreaking is that we’re making this capability available for 200,000+ vessels on the platform at no additional charge.

Combined with new operational map layers and more flexible document management, NavFleet gives shore-based teams a clearer, more up-to-date picture of fleet operations.

See your fleet movements within seconds

AIS Streaming delivers real-time vessel visibility, with position updates every 5–40 seconds compared to previous update intervals of 15–20 minutes.

Why it matters:

  • Monitor vessel movements within seconds, not minutes.

  • Gain faster operational awareness across your fleet.

  • Improve decision-making with more timely information.

  • Find vessels and key information more quickly using enhanced map tools.

Rolling out gradually

AIS Streaming is included as standard with every NavFleet Monitoring subscription, at no additional cost. There is nothing to install or configure, simply log in and start using it.

To ensure a stable and reliable experience, AIS Streaming will be introduced in phases. As the rollout progresses, an increasing number of vessels will display near real-time AIS positions within NavFleet.

And this is just the beginning.

AIS Streaming creates the foundation for future enhancements, including richer vessel tracks, multi-vessel playback and additional fleet insights

More intelligence directly on the map

NavFleet now includes additional operational layers, helping teams better understand the environment around their vessels without switching between multiple systems.

New layers include:

  • Important Mammal Migration Areas (IMMA)

  • Whale Conservation Zones (WCZ), including dynamic information

  • Polar Code Areas (PCA)

  • Areas To Be Avoided (ATBA)

  • IMO Special Areas

Together with AIS Streaming, the additional layers create a richer operational picture, bringing vessel positions and relevant geographical information together in one place.

Bring more of your documents into NavFleet

Still sharing vessel documents through email, Dropbox and multiple different systems?

Bring it all together in NavFleet. Customers can now upload a wider range of file formats, making it easier to keep photos, spreadsheets, lists, forms and operational documents organised, accessible and in one place.

Supported formats include:

PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, JPEG, PNG, XLS, XLSX, HTML, CSV and TXT.

Files can be uploaded, tagged and assigned in NavFleet, helping teams organise relevant information within the same environment they already use for fleet operations.

Documents shared with NavStation will continue to require PDF format.

A clearer picture of your fleet. Faster.

NavFleet 2.7.1 brings together near real-time vessel visibility, richer operational intelligence and more flexible workflows in a single platform.

With faster access to the information that matters, shore-based teams can monitor operations more effectively, make informed decisions with confidence and stay closer to their fleet than ever before. Smart shipping made easy.
