During two days in nice December weather in Egersund, a group of NAVTOR employees and visitors from all over the globe met at Grand Hotel. The delegates spent 9th and 10th inside the conference room to be trained and prepared for bringing the NAVTOR products and services out to the international maritime community. A community that is dependent on companies like NAVTOR to be able to fulfil the ECDIS mandate that is just around the bend.
When July 2018 comes all large passenger liners, tankers and cargo ships will be obliged to have fitted ECDIS. This is due to the amendment the International Maritime Organization (IMO) approved to the international convention for SOLAS at the 86th session of the Maritime Safety Committee in June 2009 which made it compulsory to fit an ECDIS.
In just four years after NAVTOR was established in 2011, the innovative e-navigation company has managed to be a market leader in Norway and in these days also gaining market shares beyond the domestic market. Furthermore as NAVTOR is growing taking new people onboard the company is taking a position in Europe and rest of the world as the company making e-navigation easy. The company that offers the simple solution that more and more mariners favor.
